cranberry gimlet

The cranberry adds a little extra pizzazz to this old classic. I love to serve this both in the summer as a refreshing drink and in the winter as a festive cocktail. Consider garnishing with rosemary around the holidays! Cheers!

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces of your favorite gin

  • 1-2 limes

  • unsweetened cranberry juice

  • simple syrup*

  • ice

Tools:

  • shaker

  • coupe or martini glass

Instructions:

  1. Measure the following into a shaker:

    • 4 ounces of dry gin

    • 1.5 ounces of freshly squeezed lime juice

    • 1.5 ounces unsweetened cranberry juice (Note: If you cannot find unsweetened juice, skip the simple syrup)

    • 1.5 ounces of simple syrup (Note: I do not like my gimlets to be too sweet - if you do, up this to 2 ounces)

  2. Add ice to the shaker and shake for about 1-2 minutes.

  3. Pour the gimlets into 2 coupes (or martini glasses or whatever you have on hand!). Bonus points if you chilled your glass.

  4. Slice a lime into lime wheels and add as garnish.

  5. Serve immediately. Cheers!

*To make simple syrup, heat 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar on the stove over low heat. Continue to stir until the sugar has fully dissolved. Allow to chill.
