classic gimlet
Anytime is a good time for a gimlet. The trick to this delicious classic is fresh lime and shaking it over ice to ensure its crisp and cold. Cheers!
Ingredients:
4 ounces of your favorite gin
1-2 limes
simple syrup*
ice
Tools:
shaker
coupe or martini glass
Instructions:
Measure the following into a shaker:
4 ounces of dry gin
2 ounces of freshly squeezed lime juice
1.5 ounces of simple syrup (Note: I do not like my gimlets to be too sweet - if you do, up this to 2 ounces)
Add ice to the shaker and shake for about 1-2 minutes.
Pour the gimlets into 2 coupes (or martini glasses or whatever you have on hand!). Bonus points if you chilled your glass.
Slice a lime into lime wheels and add as garnish.
Serve immediately. Cheers!
*To make simple syrup, heat 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar on the stove over low heat. Continue to stir until the sugar has fully dissolved. Allow to chill.
